Add images and PDFs to notes

Insert an image or PDF

Use the editor controls to insert a file, or add a Markdown image link if you already know the file path.

Moonstone displays supported files in the note so you can read around them naturally.

Keep media organized

If you add many files, choose a media folder for the vault. This keeps note attachments in a predictable place.

If your vault is small, keeping files at the vault root is also fine.

Use existing files from the sidebar

Images and PDFs in your vault can appear in the sidebar. Select one to insert a link into the note you are editing.

Export with attachments

When you export a vault, Moonstone includes notes and the attachment files it can find. This helps your vault remain useful outside Moonstone.
