Find notes quickly

A good vault should not require perfect memory. Moonstone gives you several simple ways back to the note you need.

Search when you remember a word

Use search when you remember part of a title, a phrase, or a tag. It is the fastest way to recover a note you did not file perfectly.

Use quick switching when you know the title

Quick switching is for jumping straight to a note by name. It is faster than opening folders when you already know where you want to go.

Use the sidebar for orientation

The sidebar shows your notes and folders. Keep it simple at first: a few top-level folders are easier to maintain than a deep filing system.

Star what you revisit often

Use starred and recent notes for work that is active right now. This keeps daily movement fast without forcing every note into a folder immediately.
